Windows 7: game keeps crashing
Anyone playing the game on Windows 7? The game is a pain: laggy, keeps crashing, … Do you know how to solve the issue?
AVX, I know you had similar issues, did you fix them?

Ok, this patch has improved the situation slightly… I also ran the game as administrator.

Re: Windows 7: game keeps crashing
My game crashes if it loads while tabbed down. Otherwhise it works fine. But click on "properties" and choose "Run in XP mode Sp 3" that should make it abit more stable, is it 32 or 64 bits your driving with as well?
And BTW, instead of running it as "Administrator" Turn of the UAC controlls if you don't know how to do that go here:

UAC is a veary bully thing on the windows 7, it's only in the way if you ask me. If it doesn't help post here again.

Re: Windows 7: game keeps crashing
Hey,
Thanks for your help.
I'm on Windows 7 64bit. I'll try running in XP compatibility.
I don't really want to turn UAC off as it's less intrusive than in Vista and somehow gives me the illusion that I'm better protected against trojans and stuff.
Thanks for your help.

If you got a virus program isntalled you can turn that one on isntead. Otherwhise your running almsot 2 UAC controlls and the windows one will warn you against EVERYTHING! I am running Vista on 64 bit so you shouldn't have anny problems. Another thing you can do to minimiza your crashes is to downlaod the fan patch from Wizanda ((also posted on this forum))
Wizanda's fan patch for Savage 2 CLICK HERE!
If that doesn't help:
Tell me your pc stats (I need to know)
Graphics card, is it dual'd by crossfire or SLI?
How much ram do you got?
What anti viruses do you have?
Firewalls? plus grade on your windows fire wall?
Good luck. =)
IF ANYONE ELLS HAS A QUESTION PLEASE POST HERE!

Re: Windows 7: game keeps crashing
Thanks for your help, I'll try the optimised patch.
My UAC is pretty quiet compared to Vista though I do have an antivirus installed. I think it's too very different things.
My PC ain't that great (anymore ) , but the game used to run smoothly on XP.
I have an overclock Intel Core 2 (2.13 GHz) with a boosted nVidia 8800 GTS and 2GB of Ram. Antivirus is Avast.
Windows firewall is on default settings as I do most firewall tasks through my router.

Re: Windows 7: game keeps crashing
Try turning shaders and texture to low it helped me and update your sound drivers since it cased me lag.
Re: Windows 7: game keeps crashing
Really, sound drivers? It reminds me of a game I bought recently and was incredibly laggy. I asked for official support and help on some forums but no one was able to point me in the right direction. I eventually discovered a tool to check latency issues on a computer. It turned out that the driver of a force feedback steering wheel I had used ages ago, and that was not connected to the PC anymore, caused the problem! (The steering wheel was branded Microsoft )
